About
Established in 2020, Sinkhole is a literary magazine expanding into the independent publishing business. We currently boast four digital issues. The purpose of Sinkhole is to provide a platform for emerging voices in the artistic space. We seek to eliminate barriers like reading fees and strict submission guidelines to elevate artists' original visions.
Inspired by classic literature and rap, rock, and fashion from the 90s and 2000s, Sinkhole curates an aesthetic, a culture, a movement. The symbol of a sinkhole implies a void, a rupture, a chasm in the monotony of daily life under capitalism, a place where art can exist for its own sake, without labels or categories, without exclusion of any race, gender, class or sexuality. Everyone belongs here and no one belongs; we can exist in this liminal safe space for misfits as we navigate the dumpster fire of 21st century living.
As we evolve and grow, stay tuned for physical copies, merch, a small press for chapbooks and novellas, a Youtube channels for author interviews, digital creative workshops, in-person meet-ups, and more. This is not just a magazine but a movement for authenticity, free thinking, and connection.
